The Church Retreat by Joel Tuggle

Help support my blog and by it now fromAmazon!

What is the book about?

Years ago, two boys went missing in a small town in South Carolina? A similar disappearance has now occurred when two young girls go missing on their way back from a church retreat. Since a huge storm is heading into South Carolina the law enforcement is busy securing instead of working on finding the two girls. All that is left of the two girls is a car with their purses located inside and it's beginning to look more and more suspicious.

Is their disappearance linked to the two young boys who went missing a few years back?
Every time you think you have the book figured out, something changes and you will be taken down a different path that leads to more unsolved mysteries. On top of everything that is going on there is also a very important drug cartel who has suddenly escaped from prison and kidnapping women. Does he have anything to do with the two girls sudden disappearance? I'll let you read the book to figure that out.

You will be delightfully surprised at the end of the book.

What did I think of the book?

Although the title of the book is called the Church Retreat, don't be fooled, it doesn't have much to do with the actual Church Retreat, and more of what's going on after the retreat. I was a little overwhelmed with how many characters were being introduced into the book and found myself getting a little confused on matching up back stories with each character. The only characters I found myself interested in was the father looking for his daughter and her friend.

I found myself a little overwhelmed with information with this book and since I knew I would be writing a review on the book, I took notes while reading but found I couldn't even place what my notes were meaning with the overwhelming amount of information throughout the book with each character.

If you can make it to the end of the book it will be well worth the reading so I encourage everyone to finish the book to get to the juicy end.
I give this book
