When her sister is murdered, leaving a single clue to her death–a cryptic message on Mac’s cell phone–Mac journeys to Ireland in search of answers. The quest to find her sister’s killer draws her into a shadowy realm where nothing is as it seems, where good and evil wear the same treacherously seductive mask. She is soon faced with an even greater challenge: staying alive long enough to learn how to handle a power she had no idea she possessed–a gift that allows her to see beyond the world of man, into the dangerous realm of the Fae….
As Mac delves deeper into the mystery of her sister’s death, her every move is shadowed by the dark, mysterious Jericho, a man with no past and only mockery for a future. As she begins to close in on the truth, the ruthless Vlane–an alpha Fae who makes sex an addiction for human women–closes in on her. And as the boundary between worlds begins to crumble, Mac’s true mission becomes clear: find the elusive Sinsar Dubh before someone else claims the all-powerful Dark Book–because whoever gets to it first holds nothing less than complete control of the very fabric of both worlds in their hands….

Mac is rainbow, cheerful girl without a serious care in the world. Assuming you don't count getting her nails painted Razzle-Dazzle-Hot-Pink. Mac is going to Ireland with our without her parent's consent, she must find her sister's murderer. Alina left a few decrypted messages on Mac's voicemail while Mac lay by the pool side, her phone accidentally dropped to the bottom of the pool. Mac couldn't feel guiltier, and she is on a serious mission to find her sister's killer.
Fortunately for her she meets Jericho Barrons the mysterious man who is willing to help her find her destiny and even find her sister's murderer. I love all the different' creatures and mysterious beings that exist in Dublin, Ireland. I think it's even more clever, the names that Karen Marie Moning uses for each monster. There's a touch of humor while being loaded with action and suspense in the paranormal sense.
I took forever to discover this series, and then forever to actually pick it up and read it, and boy do I wish I started this series years ago! It's amazing, brilliant and extremely addicting! I was up way past my bedtime with this book, I think I even started the second one at three or four in the morning. I was very insistent on getting the book started immediately . This is a five star book! I can't wait to finish the series!
